This stage has undergone an extension of the route following the works on the dam of the Chiascio river, where Francesco passed and that stretch is not yet passable, so the stage becomes very demanding (34,5km), so there is the possibility of dividing it into two phases. (***)

Here we are at the penultimate stage! From the convent of San Francesco in Piazza 40 Martiri, we set off early in the morning in a southerly direction, passing through the church of Vittorina: here the famous "Franciscan Way" practically begins, well signposted, which leads to Assisi in two stages; at the crossroads turn left. You pass Cipolletto and Ponte Assi (4 kilometres). The route continues for one kilometer along the state road. Then take the uphill country road on the left and after 3.5 km at the still uphill crossroads (altitude 700 m) turn left. At the next crossroads (700 m) the dirt road begins which leads to the hermitage of San Pietro (16 kilometers from the start).
Now the dirt road continues to descend and after one kilometer and 250 meters, having arrived at the Church of Caprignone, continue to follow the signs (Yellow Blue), since following the maintenance work on the dam on the Chiascio river, the riverside is currently not it's passable; the path continues uphill to Biscina Castle (22.6 km). After 5 km you reach the asphalt road and continue towards Valfabbrica passing La “Barcaccia” with still 3 km to go, for a necessary stop.

(***) In case of heavy rain or for time reasons there is also this alternative: From Piazza 40 Martiri in Gubbio every morning at 8.00 a bus leaves for Perugia, you can get off at the crossroads for BISCINA; after about 2 km you cross the regional path (Yellow and Blue) which in 18 km leads to Valfabbrica, new logistics of the route.
